Girlfriend

Me and my friend Nico Baumbach did this, just messing around, in 2001. During the summer. It was a kind of endurance piece.
We could only listen to whatever was Billboard number one. We bought the singles at Tower when they popped.
If we ever felt like listening to something, it had to be that. We couldn't listen to any other music, at least by choice.
We did it for a couple of months. Over that time it was only three songs.
Bootylicious, U Remind Me, and Lady Marmalade.
I made cover versions of the songs afterwards.
